Alice Panchaud

Head of primary care pharmacy at Institute for Primary Care at UNIBe, Clinical Pharmacist at Pharmacy Service at CHUV (Maternity ward CHUV)

Prof Alice Panchaud has graduated from the School of Pharmacy at the university of Lausanne (UNIL) in 1999 and completed her PhD in Clinical pharmacology and Clinical nutrition (2000-2005) at the Department of Pediatrics at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). She became head pharmacist of the Swiss Teratogen Information Service (STIS) (2006-2012) in Lausanne and spent six months at the Motherisk program in Toronto (2008) for clinical and research training. She completed her title of Clinical Pharmacologist SGKPT (2009) and her FPH Certification of Clinical Pharmacist (2011). Pharmacoepidemiology being the cornerstone of her research field, she performed a two years research fellowship in the pharmacoepidemiology program at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston where she has been working with large administrative databases and registry data (2015-2017). She is since 2020, head of primary care pharmacy at the Institute for Primary Care at UNIBe. Her research interests focused on safety and effectiveness of drugs in the real-life setting, with a special interest on special populations (e.g. pregnant and breastfeeding women) and the development of digital tools to support health care professionals and patients in their use of medicines.
