Dr MD Flavia Ferraro

Flavia Ferraro graduated in Medicine from Sapienza University of Rome. After an initial research experience at Sapienza University, she moved to Switzerland to complete the pediatric training, which she finalized at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG). F. Ferraro subsequently pursued advanced training in neonatology between HUG and Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV – Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois). She holds FMH certification in Pediatrics and has completed advanced training in Neonatology. She currently serves as Senior Physician in Neonatology at HUG. In parallel with the clinical training in neonatology, F. Ferraro obtained an MD (CHUV–UNIL), with a doctoral thesis published in Pediatric Research. Her scientific interests focus on neonatal immunohematology and infectious diseases, particularly leukocyte developmental biology, early diagnosis of neonatal sepsis, and neonatal transfusion medicine.
