Prof. Dr. med. Sibil Tschudin

Sibil Tschudin is an obstetrician-gynaecologist sub-specialized in psychosomatic and psychosocial medicine and sexual medicine. She is the head of the Division of Social Medicine and Psychosomatics at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the University Hospital Basel. Since 2002 she has been a teacher at the University of Basel with special interest in family planning and gynaecological psychosomatics. In 2012 she gained her venia docendi. Her main research activities are directed towards counselling techniques in obstetrics and gynaecology, focusing on topics such as infertility, prenatal diagnostics and contraception. Another field of interest and research is premenstrual syndrome. She is a former president of the Swiss Working Group of Psychosomatics in Ob/Gyn (SAPGG) and the immediate past-president of the International Society of Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISPOG).
